Looking For Homes In Pasco County? 5 Popular Pasco Communities

Situated just north of Tampa and Hillsborough County, Pasco County has become a magnet for homebuyers looking for a Florida lifestyle in quiet communities. Some of the best homes in Pasco County are in Wesley Chapel, Land O’ Lakes, Odessa, Quail Ridge and Trinity.

Homes In Pasco County

Pasco County is one of the fastest growing counties in the state. People have moved into homes in Pasco County at a fast clip, with the population growing more than 16% between 2010 and 2018, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. An estimated 539,000 people call Pasco County home.

That population is only expected to grow in the coming years. However, there is plenty of room for expansion. Wesley Chapel

Wesley Chapel is a model community for those looking to live close to big city amenities but far enough away from the inner city to enjoy a quiet, safe lifestyle. This area offers some of the best, most affordable homes in Pasco County. Neighborhoods include:

  • Belle Chase
  • Northwood
  • The Lakes at Northwood
  • Williamsburg West
  • Alvarez Acres

The schools in the area have an A rating. There are about 53,000 people living in Wesley Chapel, where the median home value is $197,800.

There also is great shopping in the area, including the Shops at Wiregrass outdoor mall, Cypress Creek Town Center and Tampa Premium Outlets. The community is about 17 miles north of downtown Tampa and is near the junction of I-75 and I-275, providing easy access to points around the Tampa Bay area.

Land O’ Lakes

Just to the west of Wesley Chapel, Land O’ Lakes is situated between I-75 and Suncoast Parkway. It stretches as far north as State Road 52, giving potential buyers plenty of neighborhoods to check out. Those neighborhoods include:

  • The Groves
  • Lakeshore Ranch
  • Lake Padgett Pines
  • Stonegate
  • Oakstead

Residents of Land o’ Lakes have access to the same shopping as those in Wesley Chapel, with a slightly longer drive. The schools in Land O’ Lakes have an A rating. The population is about 36,000, while the median home value is $209,600. Land O’ Lakes is also about 17 miles north of downtown Tampa.  


Located just northwest of Cheval in Hillsborough County, Odessa is another quiet Pasco County community that is quickly growing. The population is slightly less than 8,000, while the median home value is about $273,300. Neighborhoods in Odessa include:

  • Odessa Gardens
  • Grey Hawk at Lake Polo
  • Sierra Pines
  • Ashley Lakes
  • Ivy Lake Estates

The schools in Odessa have an A rating. Odessa straddles the Suncoast Parkway and is just a short drive north of all the amenities in the Carrollwood and Northdale areas of Tampa, including top-notch restaurants and shopping. Odessa has more of a small town than a suburban feel. It’s about 15 miles north of downtown Tampa, for those who need to commute.

Quail Ridge

Looking for a small-town feel? Quail Ridge, located just east of the Suncoast Parkway and north of State Road 52, offers the quiet, beautiful setting of small-town America. Quail Ridge has a population of about 1,847. The schools are rated a “B+.”

Quail Ridge is about 25 miles north of downtown Tampa. However, the Suncoast Parkway offers quick access to the city. It’s also only about 10 miles from the Gulf of Mexico and New Port Richey.


Trinity is considered one of the nicest areas in Pasco County. The median home value there is about $254,700, with a population of about 10,572. Neighborhoods in Trinity include:

  • Fox Wood
  • Chelsea Place
  • Sabal at Wyndtree
  • Heritage Springs
  • Trinity East

The schools in the Trinity area have an A grade. Trinity is just about six miles from the Gulf of Mexico, and an easy drive to Tarpon Springs and some of the best Greek food you can eat outside of Greece. It’s also only about five miles southeast of New Port Richey. The drive to downtown Tampa is a bit further – about 20 miles.
